Neptune 4 Max - A Big, Big, Big Printer Reviewed

The Elegoo Neptune 4 Max is a MASSIVE printer measuring 420x420x480mm, making other printers look tiny.

NOTE: I forgot to mention the printer has built-in Wi-Fi, which is accessible from the Setup menu. The Wi-Fi in my unit is not strong enough to connect to my network (even just one flight under the router), so I'm still using the Ethernet adapter I have been using for my Neptune 4.

The same Klipper firmware and Elegoo hardware are at its heart as the Neptune 4.

In this video, I go over the specs, performance, and, obviously the size of this printer. I talk about the problems with the printer and why I'm not giving it a final grade just yet.

Hey hey! awesome video - You shouldnt need that wireless adapter. Mine came with a really small antenna that I can screw in next to the ethernet port - then go into the settings and connect to the wifi network and wirelessly send jobs to the printer. Does it have a filament runout sensor out of rhe box or is it sold separately?

How do you all clean pesky resin off your magnetic plate?
Also what paper do you use to auto level?
Do you really just wipe the nozzle after one printing, then all set?

Thank you for the first look. I was curious about the Max and I am looking at getting one. I was thinking about printing a Mark 3 Baddeley dome for my R2 as well as other parts I'd like to reprint. (Some take 24+ hours)

A full review would be fair since us Neptune 4 users have been waiting for these profiles since it has been released and Elegoo is less than responsive to requests.

Are these profiles available at this moment, since the video is 1 year old... I am a new in the hobby and I am in a big dilemma between Bambu A1 and this printer.

Didn’t yours come with a wifi antennae? I think uncle jessys did. I think you connect it to the section next to the ethernet port. I could be misremembering.

Was thinking about this printer but don't like the pom wheels on all axis, the 85 deg print bed, no auto z axis and currently no larger nozzles available.

Would there be problems printing a 4-5 inch/100-120 mm, complete hollow cube, with say 3mm wall thickness?
If so, what, and how would you solve the problem?

I just started putting my 4 Max together. I have 1 problem. Can you tell me exactly where the voltage change switch is located? I have looked on all 4 sides of the frame and only see a hole with no switch in it on the left side. Thanks.

oh also, I occasionally print D&D minis on my printer, and I would love to know how such a big printer handles the extra fine details.
