10:20, I am working since late 2023 in a project that the existing members of the team are either not writing comments, or when they put comments, these comments are not helpful at all! It is C++ code, also using Qt6. Also function names are usually not good! I will be laid off in a few weeks, and I am so glad that I will get out of this mess. As a junior engineer I was struggling so much. Maybe for experience engineers it was OK, but I hope that I will go somewhere with better code base.

I agree with your assessment wholeheartedly. But I think effective communication is on the same level of difficulty as getting requirements down to a tee. Both are among the most difficult things to get right in any project. Your recommendations will help but remember that there are no shortcuts. The more determined all parties are during the process of specification and later communication, the higher the probability of success will be.

If i could just gain the skill and knowledge i would get the job. Since I've started in the industry at the age of 40 it has blown me away how poor many of my coworkers are at talking or just being normal. It is remarkable. I literally talked my way into a help desk job and once i met my coworkers i was like "yep, you're all gen z dorks. Yikes."

I hate it but this is true, we will not progress if we start hating the other person asking for help and if we don’t consider or give the correct details when escalating an issue.
In the end even if you are the best if people hate you its really hard to progress or atleast maximize the opportunity because in the future the people you help might also give back
