this is true. in india both ps5 versions are selling at original MSRP. even though there has been increase in console prices. 40k inr for digital only version is killer value.

Lol suck it scalpers only bad thing is they probably had most of them for so long the 1 year manufacturer warranty is probably expired or 5 months into it depending if they bought those God of War bundles on day one so even if they sell it at a loss to you if you need repair or replacement you’re most likely not covered

I don’t think the PS6 launch will be nearly as bad. The pandemic played a massive role in making the PS5 an easy scalper target. Long as we don’t get another global pandemic during the PS6 launch, we’re good. Yes I’m sure the PS6 will be a hot item for maybe a year, but it’ll be more gamers fighting gamers instead of gamers fighting scalpers like with the PS5. There will be scalpers, but they’ll be taking a bigger risk without a pandemic to help them keep the stocks as limited as with the PS5.

The problem is that Sony think they sold a lot of PS5 and I wonder what percentage of those sales are sitting in resellers basement

There's always a higher demand for the holiday season. Not as many people going to be buying them in spring/summer. It would make sense for scalpers to hold onto them if they can afford it and sell them around Christmas time. When the demand is higher and the weather is worse.

Honestly ...I remember during the launch and the last few years . And scalpers were selling them for $900 and up ...and now a days because of inflation they are struggling to get $400...I feel bad for all the people who got scammed at the height of this hype and now were living in a time where the steam deck, switch OLED, ultrabooks, tablets and etc are less expensive but provide a somewhat comparable experience
