I have lived in Edinburgh for 92 years and driven up St Marys Street countless times and always wondered why the pub was called the THE WORLDS ENd. Thank you for letting me know really enjoyed your video!

Superb mate. I immediately thought of York when the picture came ups on the screen.

For any visitors to Edinburgh who regularly watch this channel, there is SO MUCH MORE to this city than the Royal Mile !.

How sad is that! So glad you have pointed this out. Next time I’m in that part of the world I’ll be looking at the gold bricks with a lot more curiosity…
Thankyou ❤

I've been there, looking at those golden bricks. I didn't really understand it because I thought the gate must have been so small. Maybe, if I'd paid a visit to the Museum of Edinburgh, I would have understood it better. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 😊🙌🙌

What a majestic, impressive building. Long gone sadly but thanks for sharing the history. Will look for the bell when we return in September.

Lovely video Tony. I do recommend your viewers watch your Flodden Wall video if they haven't already seen it as it is one of my favourite Clan Broonford videos 😊

Such a shame that it was demolished! 😩 You’re right, it would’ve been a sight to behold, Tony. 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Thanks to your amazing videos and informative content, we returned yesterday from a brilliant four day trip in Edinburgh. From the simple Tram system between the airport and the city, to the 'Chicken with Glasses' in Trunks Close we enjoyed every minute. We also visited, 'Mary Kings Close', Holyrood House Palace, The Scottish Parliament, The Port of Leith, AND, , , The Tolbooth Tavern on the Royal Mile. Great beer !! Can't wait to return. Thanks for what you do, keep it up, I'll keep watching. Dave x

I loved this video as always. I showed my boys the gold bricks and the rest of the wall. I miss Edinburgh. Walking around the city made me very happy, and thinking about all the history you have shared made it even better. 💙

Used to stop in at The Tolbooth Tavern for a pint when Pat Stanton ran it in the late 80's ( I think).

Hey Tony; I'm currently reading Scott's Heart of Midlothian with its wonderful descriptions of the gates and the Old Tollbooth Prison around the Porteous Riots. I'd love to see some of the other locations in the novel: Bristo Port; Dumbiedikes; and Muschats Cairn by the crags.

Hi Tony, I love your videos, and the history you reveal in them. You can still find part of the flodden wall in Greyfriars kirkyard. It's behind the kirk from the entrance. You can see it in a walk around video I did a couple of weeks ago of Greyfriars kirkyard
