Wenwu arrived at the gates of Ta Lo as the Mandarin but Let with Ying Li as a new and humbled man. The failure of the masters of Ta Lo to see the man he was going to become and remaining afraid of the man he was set their city and it's people on a path of failure. A path that would lead to the burning of their village, the death of their friends and the failure to contain the Dweller In Darkness and the Soul Eaters. Had he been given the chance, He would of raised Shang Chi and Xialing in peace.

Given Wen Wu’s history, it is more believable for the masters to reject him than to allow him into their village. After all, do people really, truly change? What happens if and when their relationship goes sour and Wen reverts to his old ways? Can they afford to risk it? Why invite such potential danger into your home?

Tony Leung is absolutely incredible. He should be recalled to reprise his role in the MCU more.

Actually he protected both of his children by reverted back into his old self. If he had still keep his hand clean after his wife’s death, his enemies will come knocking again. And this time, they may kill both of his children. He became the Mandarin against and knocked them all down hard, so that they will never come after his children again.

The time has come for the rest of the world to feast their eyes, heart and soul on the incredible Tony Leung. He is one of the best villains MCU has created to date. He needs to come back, like Loki and Thanos.

Wow..this video really gave me a renewed reflection of wenwu's redemption or should I say love ark. He's such a underrated character with so many deep layers that this movie tried to fill so much in that I felt like it was too much for me to take in on a 2 hr time frame 😞 I wish they could make shang chi into its own disney plus series so we can have more time to explain his backstory life choices and his relationship with his kids. There's still so much I wanna know about wenwu and I want to see more of tony leung 😣😭❤

You are SO right on in your insight and analysis. Brilliant!! Marvel should do a prequel of Wenwu and Jiang Li’s love story and how she went against her elders for love. That would be a great Marvel love story.

Wenwu is a kinder version of Gendo Ikari. Both had the same goals of reuniting with their wives. But Wenwu treats his son better than what Gendo did with Shinji.

I would disagree. They knew he had darkness within and so they did not want him near the gates thus magnify the dweller’s power/influence in such close proximity. So they allow her to leave with him to quell his darkness and keep him away. They left it up to faith. But sometimes good is born from the violence and bad, for example Batman or Spider-Man. In this case it was Shang chi the good born from the bad circumstances.

This is such an interesting take on the movie, and so easy for it to fly under the radar. It's very much the same as if T'Chaka had taken Erik with him instead of leaving him as a child. If these villains beame part of their respective societies, they would have made vast improvements to them. Erik and T'challa would probably work together as the Black Panther and Wen Wu would be able to live peacefull with his family while protecting Ta Lo. It's a shame. But we can all agree that both Wen Wu and Killmonger's death scenes are top tier!

In a lot of these films especially martial arts swordplay movies, great martial artists usually feel and find out the hard way they maybe cannot be normal people who fall in love and have children, their martial arts prowess is in service to the world or greater ambitions. Getting close and endangering normal people is something that becomes apparent to these tragic characters,

You can't really blame the elders of Ta Lo. Would you be comfortable letting the most dangerous man on earth who has killed so many people in 1000 years into your village? It's only natural for them to turn him away.
