Hey Jakey! Ex Florida resident here and I FEEL for you on the bugs and snakes! Listen, you're gonna need a mosquito net for your bed. It's easy and cheap, it can even look niceish. Super cheap from Amazon. Just do yourself a favor and get one. If you want to sit outside, which is hard to imagine but if you do, get one for outside too. You'll probably want a mosquito zapper for inside, yes that's a real thing. Bug repellent has probably already become your life, but a good hack is to spray the super chemically stuff on your clothes if you can't tolerate it on your skin/are trying to be healthier. There are some essential oil mixes you can get that help in the bug spray department for long term, but since you're only gonna be there for a short time you can probably risk the heavier stuff off and on. Citronella candles can help, but usually only marginally especially outside.
