Brilliant- spent all day emptying the print spool, then uninstalling and reinstalling, and updating the firmware to no avail- going through online help all of which failed. And this simple action did it within minutes. Why HP could not have had this on their help service I do not know. Bless you.

My issue is that I had to turn off ipv6 in the printer settings. I had to do the reset in this video to get rid of my wifi settings first but it was still happening with the hard line so I found the ipv6 issue somewhere online and that solved it. That's 2 hours I'll never get back - thanks HP!

Thank you! This issue was really frustrating me. I used it on my M254dw to get past an initialization loop and constant 79 errors . It did take two tries (first try the storage init did not come up) and I had to reset my printer network settings afterwards. But it did work.
