"I grew up too quick and I still forgive too slow." what a fucking laser banger of an emotional gut-punch one-liner.

Its crazy watching her sing this song. She’s not even present, she’s not in that room. She’s miles away in the exact moment she wrote this song about. I’ve never heard such a clear and pinpoint description of an event so much so I can see it. Unbelievable.

romance is dead and gone, but Elena makes me feel so alive and grateful

The drummer in this performance (and in the whole album) moves me as much as Elena's voice, if not more

I adore Daughter, but there is something really magical about the new works with EX:Re. I love the way the musicians compliment her work... The drummer is so killer!!

Wow her voice is so raw and real. She sounds exactly the same live as she does on her album. So beautiful!

I just want to meet people who listen to music like this.. all my life I feel like the outcast for being the only one to enjoy this stuff. I get stoned and just chill to live performances like this all the time. So I’m very thankful they exist. Scrolling YouTube comments can be soothing way to connect to people at least

When people ask me what kind of people I find beautiful, I’m gonna show them this. Elena tonra is the most beautiful human being I’ve ever seen. Her beauty electrifying and intoxicating. She seems so vulnerable yet strong in the same time.

I want to hug Elena and say everything's okay even if she isn't really sad. Her songs just say otherwise.

"I thought of another the whole time
Who would have never stared me like that
See he saw me as a human
This one thinks I'm a slaughterhouse"

Utterly devastating writing 😭

The drummer is not playing drums - he dances with them - unbelievable! He makes a wonderful and beautiful song even more beauty.

They say never meet your heroes, because they can let you down. Elena is so genuine and caring, that when I met her it only made me love her more.

I discovered this album by chance a few years ago. I'm in my 50s and not since my teens have I listened to any album on repeat like this. This particular song and this particular performance is incredible. Captures exactly how she felt. All the musicians compliment each other so well. I'm very fussy about music. This is absolute perfection. To get a glimpse into this moment feels special.

We're all a bunch of lucky persons to know and like this type of music aren't we

Her eyes are so sad and beautiful at the same time. Her music speaks to my soul. I absolutely adore this woman with all of my heart.💙

I will never get over this masterpiece, from beginning to end all the notes just emphasize the emotions behind this song.

I must say, I enjoy Ex:Re a whole lot more than Daughter. Don’t get me wrong, I really like Daughter, but this project is next level to me. Also the overall mix and master of the record (and live as well) feel way better to me. Elena‘s voice isn’t sounding as if she was singing in a hall a town away while the rest of the band is playing in a cathedral. This is way more intimate also the level of musician ship definitely seems higher in Ex:Re. I‘m happy she went for trying this one.

As a male this song hits me from multiple directions…

My first relationship was 6 years long. Both each others first everything. Met at 16. But, her family was full of alcoholics, I hated booze and drugs. By the time I proposed, she decided she wanted to go live life. Which killed me… until I joined the club.

I suddenly realized I was attractive after the years of hearing I was ugly. Eventually started drinking when I joined a band and played shows. That led to the obvious “sex and drugs” part of playing shows.

Which leads me to why these lyrics hit in many ways. My ex ended up becoming well known in town and it wasn’t a good reputation. She did many things she still can’t forgive herself for because she was just living in a blur with one “statue” after another… I feel like if I had been open to her drinking and if we went out that may not have happened, but her family is Irish and none of them can just have 1 drink… so idk honestly. I feel bad either way…

As for me, I ended up somehow getting myself into a position not only once but twice where unknown to me, a female decided to put something in my drink and another time actually was very random. Girl squirting a water gun saying it’s vodka and there was actually a mix of drugs in it from what I heard.

Both these times I was walked/pushed into a car or room and “r worded” while unable to physically get them off me. Having to see and hear very distorted altered reality and I swear I’ll never forget the things they said… “and it hurts between the eyes on this side…”

Eventually I was able to get a couple people to believe me and one was my manager who decided he was gonna keep an eye on me after that and if I wasn’t sober enough to write a sentence we agreed on, he would politely separate me and the females. He also got me into rehab a year later when the band split up and I owe him so much for both of those things.

Anyways, this song hits hard. Both me and my ex ended up having horrible things happen to us while trying to forget about how much we still loved each other. We’re good friends now. Both have kids. Both sober. But, yeah… this songs always gonna hit hard.

Video is amazing, Elena is just vocally perfect but the drummer also deserves respect. 10/10...

“See me here, meet me here. I don’t care if it’s not repeated I want to know who you are. For every second we outrun the moon dread the sun I want to know who you are.”
