The dancer took to the stage. There she was. Her and the warmth of the spotlight and the silent crowd. The keys flowed from the grand piano. Taking her to a different world. With each flowing key she would twirl, her hands flowing like water. Her whole body in a rhythm.everything came together in one. It was like second nature to her. Like she had known it her whole entire life. These past moments coming together and forming something amazing. Her feet glided across the stage until the last note hit. The crowd roared as she bowed. And her face felt hot from the spotlight. But she didn’t care. She was bathed in the dance. The last time she felt her pointe shoe glide on the stage floor. It was pure bliss for her. The ballerina.

I took her gloved hand and we swayed to the dance floor. His eyes were glued to mine as I absentmindedly tried to figure out where my feet were supposed to go next. Maybe he was a bad dancer after all. "Just look at me, " he raised his eyebrows, his face was gentle. "I will lead the way."

And so he did it. We swing. We Dance. We moved in motion. We moved as one. He felt liberating. He had never really felt that way to me. My heart raced, but… what was this feeling? Freedom? Hope? I mocked myself internally. The song ended, our hands slowly lowered and we slowly backed away. Do you trust me? I thought about the question he asked earlier.
