Dave now has a 2nd EEVblog channel.
Well, it's his old Altzone channel, but it'll now get used more for all sorts of random stuff...

Understandable. It's extra work to put on the blog site though, and the podcast. Could maybe have automated script do it on a separate section of the site, but I'm not sure many would bother watching my off-topic stuff that way?

As with all my stuff, there is no ulterior motive. I would like to potentially upload more content, and I simply don't think a lot of it belongs on the eevblog. And I'd like more subscribers to my other channel so it's worthwhile uploading any off-topic content there.
If no one signs up, so be it, I'll either not bother uploading, or upload to eevblog (to all the usual complaints)

No, in fact it's the opposite. If anything, spreading my content is a BAD thing to do in terms of stats and ad income. If I wanted to extract the most possible financial benefit from my my channel, I would ensure that I consolidate everything on eevblog and upload several videos a day on any topic.

Yeah, the idea is that anything I like goes up on the end channel (as I currently use it for). If it's 10 sagan videos in a row then so be it. No correspondence will be entered into on this 2nd channel! :-P

What don't you agree with exactly? Do you think I should upload even off-topic stuff onto the EEVblog channel?

Not much in this case, the Altzone channel is monetised too. I'd rather have the right videos on the right places.

Yeah, that would be awesome. Consolidates all the stats on the one channel, but lets people watch only what they want.

So you think the $140K unboxing should be on here, but not numbered perhaps?

Hi, Dave

Ep 330 must be one of my favorites so far, since it was not just a tear down (which I love), you gave a lot of good info on troubleshooting. I'd love to see that as a regular part of the eev blog since us "young players" and newbies learn a lot from tear downs combined with how to's.

Not at all, that's cool, and I want feedback on what shouldn't be on my EEVblog channel. For example is that garage unboxing worthwhile having on the main channel?

I completely understand how you feel. One gets torn between stuff 'that works' and his own curiosity to discover more.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Maybe some outtakes and boring stuff around the lab or whatever on the other channel.

That's one thing I learnt very early on...

Whether it's here or there, I'll be watching it.

yes, an EEV out-takes "extras"play list and bloopers playlist perhaps?

Regulare episodes on the main splash page and "extras" on the Episode guide page, the bloopers posted in the forum?

chrisvighagen

Well, not electronics content, just maybe the boring stuff like vlog type stuff perhaps. It's mostly for off-topic.

Therein lies the problem, you said it yourself. Some is fine, 50% is not. Where is the line? Everyone has a different opinion!

Well, funny thing is it's always been there. Had a few dozen regular watchers :->

How did you end up with that Infiniium scope anyway? Did either Trio Smartcal or Agilent themselves say "That $20 pulse generator is cool. Have a $140, 000 oscilloscope"?
