in the render queue, go to the output module and select h.264 for a more compressed video, then, on the format options, you can compres the video as you like it, i hope that i could help in something :) (sorry for my english u.u)

Is there a way to make the bar text instead and with the beat the text gets distorted and moves up and down like the bar? If so that would be epic

I'm guessing you can use a picture instead of the black background? I haven't worked with after effects much, just premiere pro - can you add text etc. to it?

When you render the video into a .AVI it will be HUGE and it will not be designed for playback.
