No need to set brightness to that low, try with anything bellows 80% and the difference will be unnoticeable, I get around 9.7 hours with 25% brightness and 9.6 hours with 90% but when I use 95% I get 8.7 hours, you can try and see for yourself

on the legion 5 pro 2021-2022 there's a feature where you can press Fn+R to change the refresh rate to 60hz

I bought an Asus G15 5900hs for its reliable battery life and it's amazing. I can easily get +8 hrs with matlab, video playback, web browsing, coding and running machine learning simulations even with the Brightness around 75-100%. I only use silent mode (cpu 35w) with the igpu only.

I put Arch Linux on my Intel Legion 5 non pro and using a script or manually changing udev rules I can disable the Nvidia GPU at boot. That alongside TLP I get ~11Hr of battery at 70% brightness

I've limited the CPU to 20% on battery. That helps a lot.

From 165hz to 60hz you can press fn+R.. for backlight, brighness level + saving mode. From Balanced mode to silenced mode already make all your setting automatic. I'm using Legion 7 2021 and what I told have at that's laptop. I think Legion 5PRO also get same future right? 🤔

I have this gaming laptop (2021 model) with the rtx 3070. The battery life hasn't bothered me until now (when i game i play plugged in for max performance) saw i was only getting about 2hrs 40 minutes on a 80% charge. I did everything you said (the toggle for the igpu is now just labeled hybrid mode and is said to be best turned off when gaming on this laptop ) and i only gained an hour. I think my laptop needs a new battery.

For refresh rate, just click fn and R button. It's shortcut for switching between 165 and 60 hz

I bought one. Had it for 3 weeks. I have never heard the fan go on. I keep it plugged in. Its a bright screen. I bought for creating and Office. The track pad is a little tricky. I'm coming off a Mac Book Pro with a m2000m who has a wonderful Track Pad. I have to have it reset. I haven't pushed it yet and bought for $1500 at Best Buy with the RTX 7030 with 32 gigs.

I have the same laptop and it not last even 2 hours straight, just for web browsing and watch youtube, I have another issue that when I close the lid the laptop still is like running on the background because my battery drains and dont know what is happening, any idea? thanks
