Doesn’t taking systemic oestrogen help with the skin changes? It would make sense because you’re replacing the last estrogen, I’m surprised you didn’t mention anything about a hormone therapy and skin aging. Seems to be a pretty important piece of the puzzle. Perhaps you could do a video about this? There seems to be next to no information online about this but my mom has been taking hormone therapy for 20 some years and her skin looks incredible. She’s 72 and she looks easily 15 to 20 years younger. Please do a video on hormone therapy and its affect on skin, thanks so much for all you do!

Maybe this isn't common, but I don't really have much of a routine. I just wash my face once in the morning and apply an odorless hypoallergenic lotion (Cetaphil) to my face, neck and chest. On sunny days when I know I'll be going outdoors a lot I also apply a mineral based hypoallergenic sunscreen like Aveeno (SPF 30 to 50) and wear a cap that shades my face when I go on walks. I don't wear makeup. I'm almost 53 and don't have wrinkles except light crow's feet and a slight droop in the area above my eyelids if I have too much salt in a meal the day before. Protecting your skin from the sun makes a huge difference in appearance/aging, but since my mom has beautiful skin at 74, I may have gotten lucky and inherited her genes (I'm just now finding a few grey hairs and haven't gone through menopause yet). I've been tempted by retin A, but I'm too lazy to start a nightly routine. :-)

Hi Dr. Hirsch… I’m a huge fan of RetinA and I also use a collagen serum in the AM &PM. I’m a candidate for Estrogen cream and was thinking to start using it on my face, not sure if I can mix that and RetinA together or use them separately? Thank you for this information that you provide us. These changes aren’t easy and women need to know that they are not alone and sometimes you need help to get through all of this. All my best to you!!

Retin- A is a miracle for me. I’m 42. However as I age I’d like to maintain my hair and my fitness level as much as possible. So I guess I’ll have to see how it goes! If I get wrinkles but still look attractive, that’s fine with me. I don’t really care what age people think I am as long as I’m my personal best.

What about acne or little pimples? I seem to be getting more on my nose and around the mouth which I understand is known as the hormone area.

I’ve been using Retin-A since it came out nearly forty years ago. Back then it was only for acne but they soon found it was a great skin cream overall. It’s my holy grail and I’ve been complemented on my skin many, many times over the years.

Hi heather. can u please tell me where I can order the product you talked about? It looks like a good product to use and I want to purchase it. Is there a website that I can go on to look for it? please let me know because you didn't mention anything about that.

thanx

Dr. Heather Hirsch is this a paid advertisement for Pause Well Aging products? FTC requires full disclosure. I will keep looking to dermatologists for the best skincare. This video seems to prey on women’s fears of aging skin at menopause and then hit the target with the one answer: an $80 skin serum. Hard eye roll.

Dr. Dray is a great source on YouTube! She doesn’t recommend any of the products you mention from “Pause Well Aging.”

I have been using tretinoin and I love what it is doing for my skin. My family really doesn’t wrinkle, so I am happy about that! I’m 51 and I don’t have wrinkles.
