I can't believe it's hot enough for those kinds of bugs but cold enough for that sweater

Dear Jonna ! Australia here - Sending Lots of Love and as you may know Australia is renowned for our undesirable creatures. . . .and I don't mean just our politicians ! Creepy crawlies galore ! Now mosquito's are just ONE of our issues, and the answer is multi-pronged:
1. Smoke from a campfire - they detest woodfire smoke that will get rid of a lot of them; and
2. Sulphur in the soil - where you have a lack of natural sulphur the mosquito's make it their "happy place" so add sulphur to your soil; and
3. You NEED an Aussie Bush hat with a net around the brim for outside that has an edge weighted down so they can't get on your beautiful face !
GOD Bless you and thank you for sharing this. . . otherwise everything about where you live would look TOO PERFECT to believe !

I have visited northern Sweden during the summer and Finland also. It’s hard to describe the beauty, the crispness of the air and the pure cold water. The summer is so short but so exquisite. My first experience of doing a real, very hot saunas and then jumping into the Baltic. I never felt so vital and alive in my body, in my entire life. I have to say, though, when I watch Jonna’s videos and those mosquitos swarming around her and landing on her, biting… I remember how I was covering myself in stinky toxic bug spray every day because I can not stand being swarmed and eaten alive by mosquitoes. There are SO many mosquitoes in some places, especially by lakes and in the forests. The air is almost thick with them! Actually I want to cry thinking about them because I’ve never so much wanted to live in any other place. But the mosquitoes are hellish 😭 that’s not an exaggeration 😭

Hi! Just one good advice, despite of esential oil drops on skin - just make many, many wooden tree houses for birds and bats. They eat tons of insects a day. True story 💪💚

I spent a couple of years in Vermont. Bitterly cold in winter (my tear ducts freezing because I've stepped outside to shovel some snow was a new experience for me!) and miserably hot and humid in summer, with mosquitos as big as your hand who all seemed in love with the smell of my blood.

Much preferred the winter. Rarely had a bad word to say other than when there was still snow on the ground in April. But I've never been more appreciative of the soggy, grey, miserable weather in my native England. Yes, summer is a state of mind there, but at least the weather isn't actively trying to kill you or drive you insane.

Or maybe it already has, I just haven't noticed..?

I visited Finland with my my family when I was 13. We were visiting family and decided to visit the northern area. Some sort of guided hike, fishing and a homemade wooden cup. It was fun except for the hike. Which we now call the hell hike. Idk how long it was, but over a hour of full head screen mosquito rampage. Good times.

Hi Jonna, this is how I got rid of mosquitoes: put chopped lemon balm and one lemon cut into circles in a jar, fill the jar with water and leave it in the fridge for 24 hours. Then strain the liquid and put it in a spray. Natural for your skin.

Mosquitoes can't do anything to you. Checked!

I thank my dragon flies when they come to visit. They are also known as mosquito eaters!

I remember when I was 10, I need to pick strawberries on our small piece of land on the far east of Ussr. It was +30, and I need to wear clothes to protect myself from this little monsters😵‍💫 it’s really unpleasant memories…

Greetings from a native of the Far East of Russia! The wonderful smells of misty forest are forever associated in my memories with the stench of repellent gel 😅

Avon skin so soft dry oil spray. Deters all the bugs without being a strong chemical on your skin. I’ve been using it since the 70s when I was horse-mad!

Growing mint or lavender around your house can naturally repel bugs

No wonder my Swedish great-grandparents felt right at home when they came to Minnesota. They had a gargantuan mosquito welcoming committee waiting for them!
