Zippo Bottom Stamp Changed ! BAD NEWS For Replicas

In this video I go over the subtle changes to the zippo 2021 bottom stamp. Also BAD NEWS for replicas and vintage looks. No longer will they bear the historical patent number !! This is really upsetting to me. Which I believe will up the price of older replicas and vintage looks now.

I have a question about the stamp on the bottom of the Zippo lighter. For instance the 1997 65th Anniversary lighter. The Zippo lighter always have the hinge to the left of the face side, correct? It has been this way in all pictures I have seen of Zippo lighters anyway. But the stamp on the bottom, is it always supposed to be the same on all Zippos? The 65th lighters I have been viewing show the letter "O" of Zippo on the hinge side of the bottom. However I came across a 65th Anniversary that had a couple of errors and was looking for some info to verify these factory errors.

Error one was the Zippo stamp on the bottom of the one I have is upside down. The "Z" of Zippo is on the hinge side of the bottom, (like the lighters in your video) not the "O" as I have seen in every other 65th Anniversary Zippo. So did Zippo flip the stamp around for the 65th lighter? Of the twelve 65th Anniversary lighters I viewed, the "O" is on the hinge side.

Second error was the lid of the case came without the embellishment of "ZIPPO" ZIPPO" ZIPPO" in 3 different fonts. This was never on the case lid. It wasn't knocked off, it wasn't pried off, if it had been, there most definitely would have been some signs of it initially being there. But there is no outline of where it should have been, or residue of what ever was supposed to have been used to hold the embellishment in place.

Any info you may be able to share with me? Anyone?

Odd, I have a 35 replica from 19 and theres no pat number. Just replica. Did that only apply to the vintage styles and 41 replicas?

So when did they change the 1941 base stamp? I have a three of black crackle 1941s F 20 H 20 J 20 all have pat numbers ! I won't buy anymore in case I get a 1941 replica stamped version!

i snagged a 41 replica black crackle from the zippo store here, made in july of 2016. it's my daily user for cooking and starting flame for grills. sorry i wasn't able to catch your streams lately man. my grandfather just died and had to fix all the papers and will all by myself.

They do his to deter counterfeit Zippos like the slight change to the cam (a small indent in it) done a few years back

That kinda bother me. I've got a vintage look one and I like how it's just like a zippo. Other than the shape theres nothing special about it which I like. I'm just not a fan of marking it as a vintage.
