When all hope seems lost, Gordon Bombay, The Minnesota Miracle Man does it again.

Gordon Bombay was a great father figure for most of the kids on his team. He treated them all with respect and was proud of their accomplishments. Just adds to how great an actor Emilio is.

"You know why I am so good? Because I have a good education. You gave it to me."
That is some padawan outdoing the master shit right there.

It will never cease to amaze me, that his acting in this scene his delivery of a true litigator, is better than so many attorneys who have actually passed the mn bar. Beyond an amazing scene and he killed it and it’s scary how spot on this is with top end hockey schools every time someone from the outside tries to come in…..epic scene

He was their coach, their mentor and their friend, he truly believe in them and never gave up on those kids, Bombay was a duck and played like a duck.

I'm surprised a lawsuit was the only thing they were worried about. Bare in mind, the beginning of the film shows they were given the scholarships after they won representing the US in D2, while it wasn't the Olympics, it was still a big deal and no doubt garnered some media attention. Not only could Bombay destroy them in court, imagine what would happen when the story hit the newspapers that they are revoking the team's scholarships without cause. "Greedy private school goes back on promises and leaves team USA's futures adrift" is the last headline they'd want to see. Patrons and doners to the school would be cutting ties with them to avoid the PR fallout so fast they wouldn't know what hit them.

Emilio may not be as prolific as his brother and father, but he is still a damn good actor.

The most beautiful era/decade was the 90s. God blessed that time!

The "For Hans" always gets me. I also love at the end when Bombay says he has business in Chicago, which connects to a surprise later in the film.

The young actress who played Charlie's romantic interest Linda in this film (Margot Finley), after leaving the acting profession, became and still remains a successful attorney in her native Canada. Maybe she was inspired by this scene? ;-)

Still can't believe, even after all these years, how good these movies are. And how one of the Varsity members became Abraham on The Walking Dead

I kinda like how the Dean seems to be a pretty good guy. He goes along with the board, but seems pretty happy he gets to do the right thing here.

Gordon made it clear to the board of trustees: Expel the Ducks, and he'll slap them with a lawsuit so huge that they will be begging the Ducks to come back to Eden Hall before the lawsuit bankrupts them. He gave them a no-win situation for themselves, so they had to give in and reinstate the Ducks.
