I just recently had this done. And I’m amazed at how much better my whole body feels. It’s almost pain free unless I tweak my neck my surgery was a week ago tomorrow

Hello my name is michelle I am glad you are feeling better I watched all your videos preop and postop they’ve helped me lots ty ty 🙏🏼
I’m wondering maybe you can help me.
I had ACDF on 2 disks 5 through 7 Myelopathy and cervical myopathy. after surgery I immediately felt better on the second night I was still in the hospital I was having breathing complications my throat was making clicking sounds and my airway feels as it’s closing which it is my tummy takes a last breath before it happens I haven’t been able to sleep right since 5 days I notice it happens more frequent as I am a little lower and on my sides it does get a little better if I elevate a little higher. I never had this prior to surgery or any sleeping complications with my throat or clicking sounds coming out of my throat I’m sorry to bother if you have any info please let me know thank you God bless you hope you get well sooner than soon🙏🏼

Thank you very much for the videos. Your ACDF recovery symptoms were very close to what I have experienced to date and were very helpful calming my fears. I am currently day 5 post surgery. My throat soreness was gone a couple days ago. The neck/back muscle spasms are the main issues I'm trying to manage. I also found that Tramadol does not work as good as the muscle relaxer. Tramadol also made me feel light-headed so holding off on that. As long as I have some movement I am OK without pain meds/muscle-relaxers during the day. However I do take the muscle relaxer before going to bed as nighttime is the toughest for me. My original symptoms were numbness in my left leg (not arms). These symptoms didnt immediately go away like yours, but I am starting to feel temperature sensation on the bottom of my left foot. Just need a little patience...

I really do appreciate your videos. I am facing ACDF 3 levels and my symptoms are pretty much similar to yours. I find my dizziness most annoying and I am not able to concentrate for an extended period of time. So far, did your dizziness abate? Thanks again and wishes for a fast recovery!

I've been told I need a 5 level fusion (C4 to T2). The cord is compressed to AP diameter of 5mm at C7/T1. I'm holding off atm as the risk of ADD increases with increasing size of fusion...plus I have EDS (so very hypermobile spine) and that increases the ADD risk further. It's all a bit rubbish tbh.

I am scheduled for second opinion for ACDF next Wednesday 2/8/23. My numbness start five min after sitting down which doesn’t bother me but my Q is neck pain, shoulder pain, headache and arm weakness. I would appreciate your advice❤

Thank you so much for these informative videos. I am having the exact same surgery in 10 days. Couple questions…..how long did you stay in the hospital? And were you put on soft food diet and if so for how long? And it looks like you were able to talk right away, whereas my friend who had it said she could not talk for several days. Thanks

Hello, I am a 57 yr old male and having ACDF C4-C7 done this Thursday Dec 8. Thanks so much for your videos as it re-assures me that I am doing the right thing. I have the same symptoms as you (tingling of both forearms, limited movement of fingers etc, every 3rd day or so I experience vertigo in which I just want to stay in a dark room. Anyway hopefully this surgery will alleviate all that. The question I have for you is washing oneself, did you shower a day or 2 after surgery? (you mentioned that the bandage on your throat pretty much sealed off the wound) or did you just bend over a sink and wash your hair? Thanks so much for any advice you can give.

You refer to the "discs" they put in, but you're referring to the spacers, right? You had fusion, not disc replacement, right?
