I switched from cricket to tello a little less than a month ago (had cricket for 10yrs @$35/mo ) cricket had some new comparable plans that included taxes and fees, but wouldn't let me keep my number... So I'm still going to save like $7-$8/mo, have unlimited everything, and keep my number. Liking it so far.

I would add that you can manually renew a plan within the same day that it auto-renews and your leftover data will roll-over to the next month! Tello is pretty great! :)

It will carry over data and minutes. When you renew early but not when you renew with the unlimited plan.

Since I retired, my data usage has dropped quite a lot; I haven't used a whole GB of data (in any single month) in over a year. On Tello, it's a dollar more for me to get 2GB over 1GB, a tiny price to pay for a 100+ percent buffer. So I'll be leaving Ting at the earliest opportunity (not mid billing cycle, as I have learned).

I looked at tello, highly customizable, however my average usage calculation always landed me in the $25 unlimited category. I went with US Mobile instead because their $25 dollar plan covers my usage and to spare and the $25 includes taxes. As a note I was also looking for a multi line plan because I needed 3 lines.

WARNING: WITH TELLO, YOU MAY NEVER GET YOUR ORIGINAL PHONE # BACK.
I made the mistake of trying them, and have botched the transition. It's now 1 month and they have not completed the transfer. SUGGESTION: make sure you have a 2nd phone line for their inevitable screw-ups on your primary line. The 24/7 customer service is useless.

The ONLY downside to Tello - when you go over your data cap, you get throttled to 2G, which is completely useless.
