I disagree with you calling a brick useless

The reason that these are so cheap are because they are OEM keys. This means that they won't work on multiple systems and that you can't transfer it to a new system when building a new computer (or at least you can't easily without Microsoft's help). In addition, you can't activate an already installed Windows with these keys (or again, not easily without Microsoft's help). You'd have to do a fresh install.

Not bashing on the video or steering people away, but these are some things people should know before buying.

So, let me get this straight: you get sponsored by this company, tell them you’re buying a Win10 key from them, and that you're going to be publishing the results on YouTube. Don’t you think they’ll make sure _you_ get a genuine key, even if it’s the only one they have? What assurances are there that Joe Blow the ordinary non-YouTuber is going to get the same treatment? You should have signed in under a fake identity and seen if the key you got that time was also genuine.

Bricks are quite useful without an operating system from what I hear.

Ive done this a couple of times, no problems. Beats piracy.

If SCDKey gets its keys from the same place as similar sites do, then they come from decommissioned PCs in Europe. Microsoft doesn't want you using those keys on other computers, but EU law says you CAN resell them, as long as the "donating" PC is no longer in use. This means those keys HAVE been used before, and you may need to make a phone call to Microsoft to get them to work. I have done this with keys purchased from similar sites. You usually don't have to talk to an actual person during that phone call, but if you do you just need to tell them the key is being used on a new PC that you just built or re-built. It's similar to what you sometimes have to do when you upgrade your motherboard and processor--since MS looks at that as an entirely new PC.

There are a couple of things that you do need to be aware of:
First, if you end up with an OEM key MS may not have to honor it. They were supposed to be sold with hardware only and I don't know what EU law has to say about that.
Second, it's still breaking the EULA, and even though EU law says those keys can be resold, US law does not. That means if you're in the US and MS decides not to allow the key there's nothing you can do. I have never had this happen, but there's a chance.

Took me about 5 minutes max to go through registering, logging in and filling out form for procuring Windows 10 Pro. Within a minute of submitting form I received my Windows 10 Pro Key. The installation went smoothly and all seems aboveboard with no error message associated with this upgrade. Officially activated and your discount code was accepted immediately on purchase. Thanks

Hmm... I'm in the middle of building my first pc. If I don't want to clone windows 7 I can just buy a cheap windows 10. This could be useful. Thank you.

$12 key is OEM version!
OEM Versions of Windows 10 are identical to Full License Retail versions except for the following:

- OEM versions do not offer any free Microsoft direct support from Microsoft support personnel

- OEM licenses are tied to the very first computer you install and activate it on

- OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

- OEM versions cannot be used to directly upgrade from an older Windows operating system

I've bought mine from eBay and it seems legit activation key. The remaining question is, how come?

I have don't have my windows 10 activated but it's completely usable. You just get some personalisation options and get rid of the watermark if you activate it.

I recently built a new computer, put the installation media from Microsoft on a USB drive, then installed it... I selected that I didn't have a key (was going to buy one from eBay or something later). However to my surprise, I never saw the water mark on the bottom right... To confirm, I went into settings and it said it had been activated. Honestly I have no idea what happened, but hey, got a free copy of windows 10 out of it

This is way better than pirate version. Worked fine on my pc after 2 years. I’ve upgraded my cpu and motherboard and it still work fine. Even if it doesnt work anymore just buy a new key for 10 bucks. Thats cheap af lol

I got a pirated version of windows 7, used one of those tools to trick it into thinking it was activated, and then windows gave me the "free upgrade to windows 10 for all windows 7 and 8 users during the first year of release"

I'd still say you should always be cautious when using "gray market" keys. When I built my PC back in 2014, I bought a Windows 8.1 CD Key from g2a, then almost a year later, I had to buy a new key. I didn't want to deal with possibly getting another bad key, so I took a picture of my sister's college acceptance letter to get the student discount from Microsoft for 8.1 pro.
