Nothing better than being a passenger in a quick takeoff instead of sitting on the tarmac for an hour waiting for clearance

My dad died and went to be with the Lord some years ago, but he used to watch the planes with his binoculars while listening to air traffic control at PHL from our old house in Norwood, PA which overlooked the Heinz Wildlife Refuge. He used to take me to the upper level of the parking garages at Philadelphia International. I can remember when he first saw his first 747 back in the early 70’s, and was so excited about it.

I often think about how in this day of smartphones how he’d be in his element. The tools we have today Vs. the 1970’s to 2010’s is far above what there was in those days. He’d be very happy 😃

I flew on a 757-200 with British Airways as a kid, it pinned me to my seat on takeoff… a wonderful machine.

I flew 757's for 8 years, both the 200 and 300. My airline only had RR rb211's. I enjoyed the airplane, nice cockpit to spend a work day in.

Delta used to have a daily 757 service from Philadelphia to London Heathrow and I loved that journey. Nothing quite like taking a single-aisle over the Atlantic. They may be getting older now, but they’re still lovely aircraft.

the only time i experienced a turn and burn was on a Virgin America a320. the engines started spooling up before we had even made the turn. it was great
