You can shine a bright light through the “black” ones and they are actually a very dark red acetate. From here you can see the metal arm rod clearly. A modern cell phone light works just fine.

Thank you for your informative video. It confirmed to me that that I have been conned. After watching this, I returned the one I bought on eBay and reported the seller today for selling fake goods. Soon as I saw the glasses, right away I had the suspicion that it's not genuine. It felt so cheap to the touch and the hinges were not smooth. It hasn't got that 7 prongs that you were talking about and the metal reinforcement inside. I hope more people can watch this video before buying.

My Ray-Ban that I just purchased says made in Italy on the left and the model number on right

The model that I purchased is RB 4340V

I checked on google and all the ray bans have the model number on the left and made in logo on right. Mine is the opposite

I have purchased it from a reputed store and when I was making this purchase the girl told me 3 times that they only deal in genuine authentic ray ban frames

My question to you is. Are mine fake ? I am pissed and would like to go back to the store to return this pair if it is.

This was helpful, the only tell on my reps is that the screw in the 7 stack hinge has a flush top not domed. Was good to see that I don't need to get a gen pair again though!

Ray Ban actually released a pair of Classic Wayfarers without the tilt. Model number is RB4340. So it may not necessarily be fake. Another good way to tell is just by the sheer weight. They all have glass lenses and the acetate is heavier than the cheap plastic fakes are made of.

I bought in shop new pair and few hoir later I was looking closer at them and I notices stains marks I dont know what it the ear....few cuts also 😑 I dont understand much but It seems to me they are used 😞 hope they give me back my money or change them..o, they didnt even gave me the gray box 😞😞😞 so sad, love the wayfarers

I have a pair that says “Made in Italy” only, not handmade, the rest seems to be the same to an original pair, also they are a different style, and bought them off of a sunglasses store that sells different brands, should I be worried about them being fake?
