GenEx, always love your ideas & structure to you're videos!:) I agree that divvy's seem to be the most passive investment (stated in many other videos as well). Also, divvy's are slower long-term get rich slow mentality; which is a turn-off to some. I've found the safest dividend is sometimes the one just raised:) Always love seeing the divvy's rollin in! Long-term divvy investor always, never give up if anybody is reading this!:) Stay long-term!

I've been following you for some time now, but these "getting back to basics" videos are good not only for the new dividend investors, but also some of the more seasoned investors who might benefit from refresher or learn a new thing or two. Thanks for the sound educational videos on investing!

I made it to the end lol! I have both dividend growth stocks and non-dividend stocks, and I would never buy another non-dividend stock again. Watching the price tank and getting nothing for my misery has been excruciating, yet I refuse to sell at a loss. Even though I own dividend stocks that are also down, they aren't down nearly as much as my non-payers, and I'm still excited to collect those growing dividends. To borrow PPC Ian's expression, I'm ride or die with dividend growth stocks. 🤣

I was super lucky in picking up XOM at $35 in 2020. I bought it due too the high yield and the recognizable name. Totally uneducated guess with incredible timing(not a recommended strategy btw) that has worked out so far. Now I know it will help pay for retirement in 30 years and I’ll just let it DRIP away! Thanks for another entertaining and educational video!

Made it to the part, love your videos and facts and how you talk about the good and the bad. I myself invest 50% in VOO and 50% in 9 or so specific dividend stocks. I’m 22 so mixing some growth with VOO and dividend investing with my individual stock investment which consists of stock like Microsoft, Pepsi, and Altria.

GenEx, you gave a very core tip that few dividend investors give to younger folks when you spoke about your daughter. If you are young, has stable income as salary, coming every month, you don't need to rely on cashflow from dividends. At the accumulation phase of your life is better to focus on investing in yourself, increase your salary, go after a second source of income and don't think much about investing, automate the process with monthly accumulating ETFs and enjoy the tax-free compounding effect. Once you need cashflow, nothing prevents you to buy some dividends paying companies instead, you will still get the 3-5% yield no matter what time you invest as total return is irrelevant in this case.

Really enjoy your videos. I’m 37, got almost 400k in my 401k. Next year I’m gonna back off that and just go to my company’s 6% match.

I’ve started a Brokerage (that has 18k) with a dividend centric focus, and I’m gonna start investing heavily in that so maybe I can retire at 50.

40% I invest in spy anyways and then I have 60 left for either growth or income. Only 35% left after adding msft.

Its not perfect, but the pros outweigh the cons to me. That said, videos like this are extremely important because people need to understand the good, and bad, prior to picking their investment strategy. Being eyes wide open is extremely important.
