The contract for Ash to take over GT live must have just been "Learn the entire lore of FNAF and you're on the couch"

Another small thing, everyone knows him as "Michael Afton" but in the beginning he writes his name as "Mike". Mike = Michael. Dave = David

If this theory is true (which most likely is), then I 100% believe that Scott thought that the community was gonna be troubled with Cassidy's name instead of Dave's. And thought that Dave's riddle was too easy and made Cassidy's extra "hard".
What an ironic twist!!

Honestly, getting MatPat to drop kick the book is probably the highest praise possible for a theory.

"I'd be comfortable saying David Afton in my videos now."
This makes me smile so much, knowing that even MatPat thinks this is the right answer 😁

Also worth pointing out that Dave/David is also a biblical name which both Michael and Elizabeth are

Honestly I think it's adorable that Cassidy and Dave used each other's methods to "hide" their names in the book. Cassidy sets up the first few letters in the Foxy grid, and Dave sets up the letters in the crossword. They chatted about their names, figured it out, and then worked together to lay the clues for Mike to know who was haunting the logbook. They're besties 💛💛

44:43 wait. Dave? And Cassidy?
Like David Cassidy, popular singer during Scott Cawthon's, lover of trolling & puns, youth?

That is what makes this theory solid for me.

With all the "Dave is a Giants fan" jokes I am severely infuriated by seeing absolutely no-one referencing David and Goliath.

Between DPT and Hyperdroid, it seems like Matpat retiring gave the community the push they needed to finally say *"Fine, I'll do it myself..."*

Answering "I'm scared" to "do you have dreams?" could also means they're scared to dream again. They're too scared to have even tried to have dreams again after fnaf 4

Ash and Matpat both crammed over the logbook like students studying for an exam and I'm LIVING for it

I think the answer for “do you have dreams?” Being “I’m scared” actually makes sense to me. Cause if we think about it from a child’s POV, referencing dreams to a child who’s only had nightmares, it makes sense that they would only think of dreams as scary, and not want to think of dreams at all. The association of dreams and being scared may lead to a kid to only answer “I’m scared” and not explain further bc, in their mind, dreams and nightmares are the same thing. Thus only processing the fact their reaction to being asked about dreams is just I’m scared makes perfect sense to me if we’re thinking about it from the child’s perspective of not wanting to think about what scares them

1:09:32 Wait, stop, this was a _really_ interesting idea. It seems like they all connect to a question and answer pair.

- Reflect on the things in life that you are most thankful for: "Does he still talk to you?"+"I hear sounds" (I'm thankful for the Fredbear plush encouraging me every day)

- Reflect on the happiest day of your life: "The party was for you"+"It was for me" (and the wording links back to Happiest Day from FNAF 3 which we know is a memory of the same party)

- Reflect on the meaning of your dreams: "Do you still have dreams?"+"I'm scared" (obvious)

- _big mirror_: "What do you see?"+"I can't see" (This just sounds like Cassidy is showing Dave the mirror and asking what he sees on it, probably because she put her name in front of the mirror, but sadly it seems like Dave didn't get the memo. Maybe because the mirror is making it YDISSAC, unless he literally can't see)

So they don't match the question on the same page, but rather they just match _some_ question. I hope they see this

As someone from England, his name being David definitely makes sense.

Scott chose very traditional English names for the members of the Afton family. It wouldn't make sense to ignore that tradition and give him a very American name such as 'Evan'.

William
Michael
Elizabeth
David

It just makes sense.

I love the idea that Cassidy and Dave literally meet in the middle. They're face to face now. After all this back and forth and trying to communicate they finally come together. It's like they both realise who they are at the same time. The fact they both have an equal number of pages beyond their respective side of the book, i think speaks to the fact that there's 2 equal spirits here controlling 1 object - a reference to them both equally controlling golden freddy.

The fact that its the FOXY grid as well. The mask his brother wore when he got bit.
I think the dreams and scared link fine, especially in the content of the game. The kid has died, maybe he doesnt know whats happening so he doesnt answer the question because hes scared of whats happening

I like Dave in context of the other Afton kids. They all have a long commonly British name Elizabeth, Michael, David, with a shortened nickname Eliza/Beth/etc, Mike, Dave. Dave fits in with the Afton naming style. It would be interesting if Elizabeth introduced herself with a nickname since the only time we've gotten her name was from Henry.

If crying child had lived he would have been the modern 40 year old Dave at barbecues that you associat with the name Dave. So it actually makes perfect sense for that to be his name. Also Afton is not known for giving his kids kiddish names like Davy.
