.............................................................
This is the Ford F150 Lightning - an all-electric version of Ford’s iconic pick-up truck!

It may look pretty similar to the normal F150, however there are some key changes to set it apart from its petrol-powered stablemate.

Aside from the plethora of Lightning badges around the truck, you can get a full-width light bar at the front which gives it real presence on the road. You also get a blanked out grille finished in gloss black and a light bar at the back.

The changes are obviously far more than just aesthetic though, as the big V8 engine has been chucked away in favour of an electric drivetrain. You get two motors, one on each axle, providing all-wheel-drive.

As standard, this truck has a 98kWh battery with 452hp and 240 miles of range. If that's not enough for you, then you can upgrade to the 131kWh battery, giving you 583hp and 320 miles of range.

The Ford F150 Lightning starts from just under £41,000, however the range-topping Platinum version we have here will set you back close to £90,000. But is it worth it? You’ll have to stick with the video to find out. "

The keypad is so you can lock your key in the truck when you workout or surf/kayak/swim etc.

0-60 in 4.3 seconds! I remember when the "really quick stuff" (i.e Supercars) would take around 5 seconds. Just insane!

The seat is for the max reclining feature of the truck. It will expand when you lay the front two seats down

For the 10% of truck owners here in the U.S. who actually tow and haul for distance, the Lightning isn’t the best. Electric vehicles are at a disadvantage for payload and freeway cruising, compared to gas engines with overdrive gears, which per gram of energy are more mechanically efficient at freeway speeds, *and* hauling.

However the majority of truck owners here rarely if-ever, use the utility, tow, or go off-road. This is perfect for the majority of American truck owners

The pin keypad on Fords is great. I have that on mine and can always just leave my keys and other crap inside and lock it. Great for beach days/pool days/etc.

I don't know if you guys are ever planning on expanding to the US but personally would love to be able to use your services here. I know there are similar options but I just would be happy to support you guys for the content you put out. (Other than as a viewer). Keep killing it. Love the content!

I've got a retractable knob, too. Just takes my wife's look of disapproval to activate it.

It always amuses me when people knock the keypad without realizing the MANY uses for it. I use my literally ALL the time when I do outdoor activities. Never have to worry about losing my keys. The keypad is legit!

The keypad is mainly to lock your car keys inside the vehicle. I think that actually comes in handy sometimes

Hi Matt. Great review as always. One feature you didn't mention which is a major benefit to owners - the ability to use the battery in the F150 to power your home in an emergency! It is essentially your own power station sitting in your garage. A brilliant feature that is highly convenient and could actually save lives. Very few electrical vehicles have this feature (including Tesla's).

How do you kill a car that doesn’t exist yet

The number pad is not an annoying thing it's super useful & you'll find yourself wondering why it's not standard for more brands to have after you've lived with it for a bit.

I love how they put in independent suspensions, because its better for the ROADS, on a workload utilitary vehicle...tells you a lot about the buyers

They keypad is awesome. You can hide your key in the truck when swimming or something.

It already killed the Tesla Cybertruck by simply already being available to buy.
I believe the cybertruck might be Tesla's first flop. Its styling only appeals to Tesla fanbois.
