Think about the last warrior film or show you’ve watched. Think Game of Thrones, Hercules, Braveheart, Troy, or 300. You’ve surely seen a scene where after a huge battle they’ve just won, everyone would gather around a pit of fire or a room with a few large tables and they would have this massive feast. The next day, they would prepare for battle, ambush their opponent, have a feast, and do it all over again.

This pattern of eating was favorable for these warriors because it fits their lifestyle. Nowadays, their way of eating has been also been used as a weight-loss tool because of how it affected the physique of these ancient warriors.

Basically, their eating pattern goes like this: they don’t eat for extended periods during the day, then they eat a huge meal at a certain window of time. Sounds familiar? If you thought, ‘Hey, this sounds a lot like intermittent fasting!’ then you’re right!

The Warrior Diet was established by former Israeli Special Forces member Ori Hofmekler last 2001 when he decided to pursue the field of fitness and nutrition. Take note though, that according to Hofmekler, this diet is not entirely backed up by science. Rather, it was based on his personal observations.

Why is the Warrior diet not good for men who have active lifestyle, when its basis are ancient Warriors who either trains all day or march all day with 20+ kilograms of armor? Just confused though.
