Tackling a mistake that Intel made with their design of the LGA 1700 ILM and how I fixed it with a Thermal Grizzly CPU Contact Frame. This product will apply even pressure across the entire IHS of the CPU to prevent bending and warping that can cause uneven contact with a CPU heatsink or CPU water block. If you are experiencing high 12th or 13th generation Intel CPU temperatures, this may help you bring temperatures down.

The cheaper one on Amazon has cushioned feet and is really easy to fit. I got my 13700K temps down by about 10 degrees when under stress. Great video👍🏽

It would help if you measured the amount of torque you used on the mounting screws to get a positive seating of the CPU.

What is the best tutorial for installing the contact frame to be followed? have the maximum grip with 2 fingers and then a 90º squeeze or some other?

I can’t even find a torque screwdriver that goes that low for the recommended spec. What was it 0.03 to 0.06nm?

What type of screw would you recommend for Asus apex z790 motherboard? The screws on the motherboard are too short for it to stay in place.

Intel and AMD have used this same retention bracket for almost 30 years and it is just lately everyone deems it a problem? Lol...

You didn't fix the problem. It was Thermal Grizzly! You applied the fix but you definitely didn't fix Intel's mistake!
