Victorinox SWISSCHAMP, Deluxe Tinker, EXPLORER. My 3 favorite Swiss Army Knives

Here’s my favorite Three Victorinox Swiss Army knives. The Swisschamp combines everything I love about the Deluxe Tinker and the Explorer and adds a great saw, file and a fish scaler. The Plus scales give you a pressurized ink pen too!

Greetings Jack. One of the omissions to my large SAK collection is the Swiss Champ - I consider it a 'hernia maker' too heavy to pocket or belt carry & with too many redundant tools all bunched up together making using it with one hand difficult. I never pocket carry any 91mm SAK larger than the 5 layer Ranger or the 5 layer Huntsman Lite or the discontinued 5 layer Victorinox 'Marlboro' Troubleshooter (I have 3 of them - 2 are new in box and one I sometimes EDC) . At home I have in my desk top tool box the 5 layer Cybertool M and the 6 layer Handyman and this is the one I consider to have all the actual useful tools unlike the cumbersome Swiss Champ . Once you go Swiss Champ, you don't need another SAK.

The Ranger is my favourite Camp Swissy. You have me swithering about my favourite EDC Swissy (other than my little Rambler, which basically IS my EDC knife)... I was carrying the Compact, but I missed the Awl (if they swapped the useless Hook for the Awl, it would be that one). I think it might be the Climber. More than 3 layers and your getting too close to the Ranger to make sense of a thinner/ lighter Swissy.

I’ve neve taken the leap of faith and bought the Swiss champ. It has always seemed too thick. But videos like this might make me change my mind…
That deluxe tinker looks like it could be my next sak!

For a jack knife guy, these are traumatizing!

I have the Swiss Army 1 Alox, and I did recently get a fisherman which is pretty cool.

I do think I’m gonna pick up a tinker or something with the fancy themed scales.

Have you ever used the parcel hook and what in the world would someone use it for??
