Over the years, Bob and I have learned the importance of love languages when it comes to loving each other and our children. They are fundamental to building and maintaining relationships with loved ones and allow both people to feel seen, heard, and loved by the other.

Hello from Yorktown VA! The Love Language theory is very valid. May I also suggest your followers look into the 4 Temperaments… Melancholy, Choleric, Sanguine, and Phlegmatic. I only wish I had discovered these 2 distinct and helpful approaches when I was raising my children. Never too late to apply them now. Enjoy your channel, Ruth!

This is so wonderful to bring to people's attention. You are correct, we need to learn the Love Languages to whom we are close to and cherish. I too am "acts of service" and then touch, hugs- affection is important to me because my Parents always showed affection of love for each other. We were raised with hugs and kisses and truth and words of wisdom from my parents and grandparents. As I listen to your stories, it resonates so close to home for me and brings back all the feelings of what my family meant and how blessed I was to have this love. Unfortunately my Mother, Grandmother and Grandfather have passed away, but the memories I will be forever grateful for. Thank you Ruth!

I liked the fact that Mrs. McKenzie didn’t just focus on the part of the love language of the spouse but rather described the five love language with different people within family, friends, in general. It’s seems that the Five love language text is more to identify how a person show love and how the other person identifies it. So it appears that the book by Gary Chapman goes beyond how spouces express intimacy in different ways. Thank for sharing your thoughts and Hopefully will get that book.( ps. My doughier and I are two different poles but we meet in the middle).🙏

I remember my son and daughter in law reading this book when they realized they needed a little guidance in how to relate to each other better. It was amazing when they realized she was acts of kindness (when he helped with the dishes or laundry or children.... he was touch. My son has been an affectionate and demonstrative person all his life, and she was not. Now they have a much better relationship, in that each was willing to give the other what they needed. BTW... he is the best hugger ever! Whenever I go for a visit, I realaize how much I miss those bear hugs!!! They are rejuvenating!
