12th Man is a nice film which shows how hypocritical relationships can lead to disastrous end results. From what I know of, the role of Sam was originally given to Shine Tom Chacko. Shine wasn't interested since Shine already played lots of negative roles. So it would have been very predictable. So the role went to Rahul Madhav who did a fine job playing the role. Shanthipriya was cast for the role of Merin. But later, Shanthipriya expressed disinterest. So Veena Nandakumar was the next choice. In the end, the role was given to Anu Sithara.

Many influences of Jeethu's previous films like Detective, Drishyam, and Drishyam 2 (in terms of plot) can be seen in 12th Man. They can be read under my name at quora. If I write them here, then it will be too long.
