A 2019 Japanese animated action fantasy movie titled NiNoKuni ( "Second Country") is based on the video game franchise of the same name created by Akihiro Hino at Level-5. Yoshiyuki Momose is the director. The events of Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom are centuries before the events of the movie. The plot revolves around high school student Yuu and his friend Haru becoming involved in a case involving Kotona, a childhood friend, which forces them to alternate between their world and Ni no Kuni, a different but somewhat related world.
