I still have my Social Security card that I got when I was 15, on the bottom of the card it says "For Social Security and Tax Purposes Only - Not For Identification." So much for our government being truthful.

I never have given anyone my SS # that was not my employer, SS, DMV, bank or for legal reasons, no one should. Anyone asks on the phone or online for any personal info including my name, address or anything at all, they get told to pound sand. Never be polite to anyone that does this, they are trying to steal from you.
