Recreating JESUS from the Shroud of Turin

How Jesus looked according to the Shroud of Turin. Also known as the Holy Shroud, it's a length of fabric which is claimed to have wrapped Jesus after crucifixion, bearing a negative image believed by some to be the face of Jesus.

The shroud has been rigorously tested, having been radiocarbon dated to the Middle Ages between years 1260 and 1390, and many theories have been posited for how the image on the shroud was created, including painting, acid pigmentation, medieval photography, dust-transfer, bas-relief, Mailard reaction and others.

It's crazy just how much he looks like Jonathan Roumie from the Chosen.

I'm not much for pretending anyone knows what Jesus Christ in the flesh looks like, but we will ALL know Him when we see Him!

I like the portrait very much, it’s lovely. I don’t think it looks like the shroud though. It doesn’t matter what he look like back then, because, he is beautiful always.

Wow, I think you caught that compassion and look of pure love and acceptance in his eyes. Not many artists have caught that look in his eyes.

Amazing how much this portrayal looks like actor Johnathan Roumie who acts as Jesus in The Chosen series!

Almost looks just like the character they had play in The chosen. I long for our savior's return more than anything in the world!

I was sorting through some basement things the other day and came across a replica of the shroud of Turin. I visited Turin some 7 yrs ago and have no recollection of buying it. I also went through my basement many times and had never seen it before. Was like finding treasure. And WOW that looks like Jonathan Roumie

It is written in Iseahs 53 He had no beauty that we could look at Him. Rejected and despised our faces turned away.. in my heart, I believe that was to say, they didn't see Him being handsome because He didn't dress as a rich man did in those days. Y'shua indeed was and is the most beautiful being that exists. ❤️

However He looked, it will be the best face I will ever see when I finally meet Him. What He did for me matters far more than what He looks like, but I look forward to seeing the face of the man/god that saved my soul. My husband of 40 years is now in his presence and I will see him again too, because of what Jesus did for us. Jesus is God.

I met a guy who came to serve our well and he was going through an awakening. All out of nowhere he told me that "Jesus is Alive". It is true. It takes a while to understand. But it is true.

Looks accurate for someone who lived in the middle east area. Nice work! I feel this is what Jesus would have looked like.

It also looks like the first painting of Akiane where she thinks what she painted was Jesus because when she was younger she started seeing visions of heaven and christ but as she gets older she starts to forget and it gets blurry so she tried painting Jesus Christ. I was abit amazed that her painting looked so smiliar to the shroud of turin I mean it could be maybe?

You made it so well. I literally crying seeing His holy face. He looks so loving and kind. And since you created His image from the shroud of Turin.... I can't imagine that holy face bruise...wounded...torn.... for our sins! O how great is His love for us!

As a Muslim we believe in the teachings of Jesus, we don’t care how did he look like. Real thing was his teaching and orders.
We should avoid to make imaginary pictures of so great prophet of God. His teachings and life was far more beautiful, handsome and greater than his body. He was God’s loved one, that’s his greatness.
