Dear sir, as a literature professor, Cambridge examiner, and Shakespearean thespian I found your short video most remarkable indeed, and want to express my gratitude for you having gone to all the trouble involved in producing and editing it and, of course, sharing it with a wide audience.

As I watch this, I'm in class. Teacher walks in and says “We're starting Shakespeare today."

Well, well.

I've been reading through Shakespeare's work lately and this is the best and clearest analysis I've seen on the Bard lately, very well done!

Very enthusiastic that Nerdwriter isn't the only game in town anymore for video essays on art, culture and society. Superb!

Bravo. You did what 5 English teachers couldn’t come close to. Appreciate Shakespeare. Thanks!

Thank you so much! I’m in 6th grade and had a test today, and we’re continuing it tomorrow. I took this time to study more now that I have an idea of the questions I’ll be getting. This was very helpful! ❤

More Shakespeare! Beyond brilliance, his works, the characters, the stories live in the hearts and minds of our universal mind and soul now, always and forevermore.

I started with Shakespeare's work not long ago. I tried before to read him but it was too difficult for me, specially since my native language is not english and I refused to get a traduction because generally they're not that good... Anyways, I found this amazing PDF with Shakespeare plays that has two divisions on its pages; the original version alongside the modern interpretation, and that is what has really helped me to understand. And I'm loving it so far.

Good video, by the way. I like your content.

Great video as always! I find it fascinating that Shakespeare created his stories for the commoner in his time without sacrificing incredible artistic vision to speak on an even deeper level. I think it's the key to his success in his time and the reason why his works were able to live on and become so influential for generations.

I love Shakespeare's style of language and most of his plays, but this would be an excellent introduction even for someone who didn't know or like them.

I think that blank verse and couplets would be more basic to understanding Shakespeare's plays than sonnets. The fact that Romeo and Juliet's first exchange was in sonnet form, rather than in blank verse or couplets, shows how unusual and important it is.

I'm a composer who is in the middle of writing a libretto for the first time and I'm really struggling to learn the art of dialogue/narrative etc. I was stuck editing my script and thought to look up "how did Shakespeare do it" on youtube lol and your video came up. Love this video essay breakdown..

You have a great project in development here, dude. Keep it up! I would love to watch a video essay of yours on some of these topics: "2001: A Space Odyssey", "Better Call Saul", T. S. Eliot's "The Waste Land" and Shelley's "Ozymandias"

I have to say, as a student of English philology, that you have done a great work in this video. In about nine minutes you have captured part of what makes Shakespeare so incredible, and you have word it in a really easily understood and complete way. I loved it, and I hope to see more literature-related videos on your channel. Keep it up, mate, you are really good.

Greetings from Spain!

After all those years you helped me to come much closer to Shakespeares works. I never thought about the verse and prosa in his plays, you explained this all in very good way, understandable to anyone.
