Great job with this! It’s always good to know specific details, cruise upgrades can be so expensive. Great information 😊

Taking my first Princess cruise next June on the Discovery. Alaska. I currently have the Premier package as originally sold and I’m staying with it. My first thought on hearing “unlimited specialty” was “Where are they going to put everyone?” I think the Discovery only has 3 specialty and although my reservations at Crown Grill and Rudi’s went through, I have never had Sabatini’s even suggested as an option, and can’t even get a date and reasonable time to get a reservation. So it’s likely there are going to be - as you says - a lot of people who pay this Premier up-charge thinking they’ll dine specialty every night and that won’t be the case. As you also mentioned, this might work better on the Sun and Star but not all of us are going on those. Will this upgrade accommodate those on the Discovery, Emerald, Crown, etc. on paper it sounds good. In reality, well I guess we will see.

We are sailing on Princess with the Premier Package in about 450 days. In a 14 night voyage we are planning to book 12 nights of specialty dining, eight of these bookings are already made. We will make the other four in the next few days. People who leave it till later to book will no doublt have some disapointments. And what about those who book specialty dining without the package? They will also crowd out those with the package. I think this is great value if you book early but can't help but think it is too much of a good thing and Princess will have to reconsider or expand specialty dining options.

Hello, do you know if the price goes up if you buy the package onboard?

Hi. My bro sailed on princess to Finland and had the plus package, but gratuities was not part of it. They got billed for it separately. I presume gratuities and crew appreciation are the same thing. Do you know about this exclusion from the plus package? We are sailing nz to Sydney soon, and if the gratuities are not on the plus package we won’t get the plus package. The only thing on the plus package we are interested in is a few cocktails and a nice coffee once a day

On 8/15/24, I booked a 12 day cruise to the Baltics for July 2026. This was the first day the new premiere package was offered. I too was concerned about difficulty getting specialty dining reservations with the higher demand. The app just let me book all my dining (including 9 specialty nights) some 23 months out. I am in a Grand suite on the Sapphire, so not sure if that is why I could book dining so early.

Sorry Princess but this package will never work for us unless I can have a guarantee that I can dine at a Specialty restaurant that I want and at the time I want, not 9 PM. Sure, it's specified as unlimited but what good is that if you can't make reservations? I feel sorry for the people at pay the extra $$ only to find out that they can't attend any of them.

No, will not get any. First we don’t drink. We rarely eat at specialty restaurants and have never taken any gym class. We also take cruises to get away from, so internet not important. Now my experience with specialty restaurants is it is very difficult to get in prior so now it will be impossible. If I paid for it and could not get in I would be VERY upset. Now I hope everyone else is different than me. If people sign up, princess will probably lower the initial cost so I will save money. Drink up everyone. 😊
