The thing to me is, if you invest and have other income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends without selling. Which means you can pass that on to your kids which will give them a leg up in life. $52k dividends received in 2022.

I just switched up my Roth IRA to 50% SCHD, 25% SCHX, 25% SCHG, and my Roth 401k is 70% vanguard S&P 500 index, 20% vanguard growth index, and 10% vanguard international index. Seeking best possible ways to grow $350k into $1m+ before retirement in 3 years.

I initially did the big ticket buy, 125k into SCHD, 75k TSLA, 25k VYM, 25K VUG. Now I'm dca buying roughly 2k every week of whatever is on sale, and looking to add more tech positions to my portfolio. I'm looking to hold long term 15 - 20 years, so hopefully my lump sum buy in doesn't bite me in the ass long term.

History shows most stocks that split are followed by a downward trend for a little bit after. Be ready to scoop up more around 25 to 26 a share

Should SCHD be bought only in Roth IRA, or normal brokerage accounts? I’m concerned about how taxes will work.

I wish they taught investing at school level. There is so much advantage to doing this!
My biggest regret is that I started so late.

Why do you maintain so many brokerage accounts? I'm happy with split for the reasons you covered.

It being cheaper is just gonna make more people buy it

I bought mine thru Ally. My SCHD etf split but I never received the extra shares yet. So, now my portfolio shows I am down tons of money. Weird.
