If you go to a dermatologist or a facialist with pimples, they will pop them. I have some rules for myself. There has to be a 'target', that is, a white spot in the middle of the blemish. Wipe a sharp needle with alcohol and pop the pimple with that first. Then squeeze *very* gently and wipe the pimple with alcohol. That's it!

Retinol is also useful and those with PCOS and IR might see improvement if they follow their diets.

Fun things about my skin:
1) sun reduces my acne/makes it heal faster (yes I take vit d)
2) moisturizing and acids often exacerbate it, so does cleansing and exfoliating. Most sunscreens do too, but thankfully I found a water based one that's fine at long last(bioré)

Sadly I do pick my skin as well when I have acne because of ADHD I often do it absent-mindedly 😬 which I know it's super bad, but can't be prevented sadly.

Yeh it’s possible to damage the skin by popping, it’s also possible to damage it worse by letting it get out of hand and require surgical removal, which will live a big pit that never heals and looks way worse than any popping scar IMO

Nope!! Always pop the pimple or it'll continue growing under the skin for weeks. Sanitize with alcohol afterwards.
