Miami native, Bobby Caldwell, was fronting a local band named Katmandu, when he was signed to Miami's TK Productions in 1978. His first album yielded a monster hit single, What You Won't Do For Love. TK was a label aimed primarily at the disco market and executives were concerned that the black buying public wouldn't buy the album if they knew Caldwell was white, so the album cover only showed Caldwell in shadow. It wasn't until he was touring with Natalie Cole that the public knew he was white. My Flame, was the follow up single off his debut album and it peaked at #54 on the Cash Box chart, week ending 11/3/79.
