I had the most challenging time learning how to use this classic machine with rave reviews. I had a copy of the manual on my computer, and still needed help!!! I goggled for help online in several places and could not find what was needed to use my Wonderful, sews through anything machine! Everybody online was asking for the same thing I needed and when God showed me how to do it, I HAD TO SHOW YOU! That is why I created this video.
How you do EVERYTHING on this machine matters if you get a stitch or not. Sometimes on the newer machines it can kind of correct itself. Not on this one, YOU GOTTA KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, TAKE IT FROM ME, I KNOW. Much success & Happy Sewing!

Thank you so much for your informative video. About 30 years ago, I expressed an interest in sewing and my wife's aunt gave me her 237 just before she passed. Well, time and circumstances got in the way and I never pulled the machine out to try but once, and it was way over my head. Lately, though, I've become interested in grow bags for my garden, and some youtube gardners were telling how they make their own bags from landscape fabric. I was completely lost. I couldn't load the bobbin or thread the needle. After watching your videos about three times, I finally figured it out. Tonight, I sewed my first grow bag. What a wonder. My stitches are all crooked and stuff, but the tomatoes won't mind. I'll have trouble sleeping, thinking of all the bags I can sew. Thanks again.

Hi Tonya. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have my aunties Singer 237A that she purchased in 1961. I cleaned it up, oiled it then had no idea how to thread the machine or bobbin. Found your very helpful video and I've been on a sewing frenzy! Thanks again.

My husband found one of these in a friends garage. Can you believe how heavy it is? Thanks for your video. You did great!

Thank you, this was very helpful. I will add that the correct bobbin for this machine is wide enough for the guide to fit in a tiny bit when the bobbin switch is slid over and the correct bobbin has a notch in it that sits over a tiny pin next to the bobbin post so the bobbin will not slip around the post. Many thanks Tanya - now I'm heading to video #2!

Thank you. I haven't used my machine for 2 years, so I forgot how the bobbin winds. This is my original machine I bought for myself in college. ;)

I am glad to hear that someone else has the same problems.  I fight with this machine every time I use, however other people rave about it.  I especially have trouble winding the bobbins.  I will  resort to buying them soon.  Will take a look at your video.

Hi Tanya! So I know you posted this over a year ago, but I really wanted to say thanks and I'm so glad you did these videos. I inherited this machine when my grandmother passed recently and have been extremely frustrated trying to figure it out on my own. Thanks to your videos, I'm getting the hang of it. I'm very grateful to be able to stay connected with her through something that she loved to do.
