To compare, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner goes around 0.85 Mach at cruise speed.

Just to mention: the reason for airliners cruise speed to be .85 mach and not faster is cause the air stream accelerates when being deflected around the wing. When this happens, you don’t want the wind to become greater than Mach 1 because this would lead to super sonic effects like shocks that would cause drag and thus lead to energy losses. The wings of airliners are designed specifically to produce high amounts of lift, as they’re carrying many passengers. Business jets fly faster because the wing design can be optimised in terms of pressure/velocity distribution around the wing so that you wouldn’t reach local supersonic speeds albeit overall velocity of the plane is nearer to Mach 1 at 0.93 Mach, and additionally they fly faster because usually people who go on business jets value time, this cruise speed is of great important. Airliners focus more on efficiency in terms of fuel and of course also fly fast to operate faster… but efficiency is most important for airlines.

This guy is really great in explaining stuff and making them easy.

Watched few his videos, he’s good at that !

American here, how many football fields per second would that be?

The problem with approaching the speed of sound is air does not move at the same speeds. Some air streams over the wings or other parts of the plane at speeds over the speed of sound which creates vibrations that can greatly stress the aircraft.

The speed of sound he provides is true at sea level. It declines with altitude due to lower air density and only around 670 mph at 40, 000 feet.

Important note to remember, those speeds for mach are at sea level. At higher altitudes the MPH/KMH speeds decrease which is why "mach" exists, to give a relative speed that is constant since the speed of sound in terms of MPH or KMH is not constant.

Know your stuff, and this man does. Kudos 👏🏽 😊

Only Concorde achieved such heights of speed as a passenger jet.

Even though I can’t afford a jet yet, love these pieces of knowledge I’m getting already 🙏🏽

the amount of force jet pilots have to endure during flights is insane hats off to them

Now this is a content i want to see more of. Good job. I though selling jets is exhausted but this is very innovative

Love your videos 👍 always learn something new I wanna work for you

Well explained and the faster you go the more fuel you use so lots of these long range aircraft do not fly at these high Mach numbers for that very reason

If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you... prevent inflation
