I went there couple of times when I still lived in Berlin. I was using a Nokia at the time. When you enter they ask for your phone and put stickers on the cameras. Once when they saw my Nokia I got an approving nod. Only time I saw Sven smile.

Friend of mine went there once. At some point he had to go to the toilet. He goes there and has a quick look before doing his business. Pretty standard club toilet: urinal, urinal urinal, an entire wall of urinals… then at the very end a guy in leather clothing sitting on his knees, staring at the ceiling with his mouth open, waiting… 😂

My brother lives in Berlin and was there several times. He said to me "people who want to go there just so they can say that they've been there, won't ever be able to pass the security". They just want those type of people that won't film, those who enjoy themselves without posting it on Instagram etc. - that's why Elon Musk would be SO wrong there. I'm glad that they didn't let him through.

The door policy isn't too different from other great Berlin clubs, the difference is the level of "tourists" (to Berlin techno club culture, gay Berlin club culture, etc, etc) that for some reason think they have to try and go when they wouldn't even enjoy it. Berghain proper is just a large very dark industrial hall, crowded with a mass of half naked or leather clad people, dancing to very loud, dark, techno. The energy is vibrant, you might spend 20 plus hours in there without leaving to get some rest, with several hour moments of losing yourself to just dancing and being in that dark, pounding mass of people.
Really, not something most Americans think of when they're told it's the most exclusive club in the world as exclusive doesn't mean what they think it means in this case.

I’ve been to a lot of raves but nothing will beat this experience. Most ppl who attend are locals mostly in the art and club scene(DJs, promoters, bartenders) although you meet a few professionals. My first time I went alone and stuck out like a sore thumb. Ppl knew I was a fresh face but everyone was super embracing. I met this girl in the ice cream parlor, she gave me a tour of the whole place and introduced me to her group. If you are not an open minded person don’t bother, you will be scared by this place lmaoo. Can’t wait to return next yr🫡
