Back in 1973 when I was an unbelieving 14 year old boy if you would have asked me if I would convert to Christianity I would have said "No f**king way !" At age 15 I became a Christian.

Fast forward to 1999, if you were to ask 40 year old me would I ever walk away and completely abandon my faith I would have been just as incredulous.

Well..a short time later I became an agnostic atheist and have remained one to the present day at age 63.

The loss of my faith was traumatic to say the least but I've come full circle back to my original position so never say never.

As Doug said, if you want to convert someone to Christianity, teach them about hell FIRST... THEN Jesus. The threat of hell can persuade people easier than the "love" of Jesus can.
I feel bad for people going through their whole life believing this stuff.

Without the fear of hell, of course. But I’d be really confused and seriously wonder what could have convinced me?

But hey I mean it’s possible some archaeologist comes up with some crazy new evidence. Or the Holy Spirit touches me.

I guess if you believe out of fear, you might just get tired of that. If we believe out of love, we might be tempted for more now rather than later.

What if hell is real but the bible got its confused salvation message wrong. What if people who believe things with insufficient evidence get tormented, and reserved skeptics are rewarded?
