I live in Siargao Island, Philippines. Where we have a lot of beautiful beaches, and I'm now here in North Dakota with this below zero temperature and questioning myself why I move here! Red snapper around my island is highly toxic. You're still alive so I guess it isn't toxic there. Try to ask the locals what are potentially toxic fish to avoid. It varies from place to place because of the type of food they feed on.
