These are death traps. I have watched several travel adapter views and none of them have even touched the aspect of safety. I find that amazing. Safety should be the main focus of a review. The only exception are JW and others who have exposed these dangerous adapters.


People who make and sell these should be put into prison. This is not just potentially dangerous like breaking the earth or not having a fuse in the UK are. This causes an actual danger. If you have this on a British style power strip you can just with a switch expose the live US inputs if you then push them back and at the same time lean on a computer or a radiator that s grounded you can die.


There are safe such adapters like from Skross. They have versions with and without grounding. If you use just phones and tablets etc, you do not need grounding. With a computer you may need it. A safe ungrounded adapter should not accept grounded plugs (with the exception of UK plugs as there is noway to reject them. One stills hold not use them). Even then I recommend specific adapters like US to UK an US to schuko.

Recently I took a trip to Italy and BESTEK travel adapter took care of all power needs. More importantly, it's suitable for the hairdryer.

WARNING. Both of those large adapters are VERY DANGEROUS. It can be lethal if more than one plug type are exposed. Please DO NOT USE. I am Certified Electrical Engineer so I am dead serious.

Hey Bender...I've just bought this universal adapter. I'm in Europe, and I'm having a problem with my laptop not getting charged with this adapter, actually the charger gets in but isn't able to get the laptop charged when left undisturbed...laptop shows being charged only when the charger is held upright, once left...doesn't charges... It'd be really nice if I receive some help in this case
