Having finished recently, for anyone that plans on reading this:

This is not a boxing manga.
You could honestly replace this with any other fighting sport, and it would still hold well. There isn't a lot of logic connecting our world of boxing to this, and shouldn't be thinking as such.
While the Webtoon does has the theme of boxing, the nature of it is more-so focused on character studies and hype. Most fights you'll enjoy as entertainment or to serve the plot, but you will not find any "boxing" here.


Even so, it's such a fun Webtoon to just read through, and the story goes deeper than you'll initially think, touching on subjects I find the author does well with showing rather than telling, especially with their previous work.

This would definitely do well as an anime. Crunchyroll have been known to go OTT with the pacing for Webtoon adaptations (GoH) but The Boxer has relatively slow pacing so an anime could still capture most of the themes in the Webtoon without it feeling rushed.
