Very help full it help me narrow it down to the problem turn out it was my cluster the terminals unstuck from the back so the were making it ground some how thanks a lot boss keep up the good work

I’m having the same issue, no spark at the ignition coil, brand new one. The connector to my ignition coil only has 2 wires, Pink and white and black. The truck was running fine, but some times when going over 2000 rpm the check engine light would flash and go away. Yesterday it was running fine and it died and never turned back on. Changed a bunch of parts and I just found out there’s no spark at the ignition coil. What could it be? Chevy Silverado 1500 2006 4.3 V6 standard. Thanks

Great video hope all is well. Have a weird issue. Have an older Chevy Express 5.0 VIN M . I left NYC for about one year and two months, when I left the van was running no issues at all. I came back last month Feb.22022, during that period the van sat basically on the street and battery was disconnected. I changed the oil went to start the engine and nothing, just cranks and cranks. I suspected it was the fuel pump and heard no priming when opening the key. The weird issue is that I disconnected ECM fuse B under the hood and plugged it back in and the dash check engine light would flash on and off, at the same time as the fuel pump.. so it cycled on and off on and off and wouldnt stop. The other weird part is there is no spark, i bought an ICM, coil and still no spark. The van was running before I left, it was bot touched or started so i thought maybe mice but cant find anything chewed up. I manually powered the oump with a power probe and pump runs. Not sure either if this year had factory alarm but I dont think so since the dash has never shown me any security lights. I am stumped and dont want to throw parts at it, i was the thinking maybe the crank position sensor… would you have any ideas

My biggest worry is why would the fuel pump cycle on and off continuously and at the same time, the check engine light would flash on and off. Thanks hope you read this.

I have 99 silverado doing the exact same thing no signal too the coil what was the final fix?I do believe mine too be in the gauge cluster with the tach

I have a 1996 gmc sierra dually with 454 and it does not have spark but cranks im wondring how much will i need to spend or how much labor hours normally it takes to get this truck running like find a open wire or shorted? Thanks

Riddle me this sir, In my 92 K5 Blazer I have to replace my ICM every couple of years, seems like they should last a lot longer or even forever? I have 92 S-10 Blazer that I replaced the ICM about 15 years ago and had no problems since. I'm baffled. Also I have to replaced Cap And Rotor every three months seems like because of oxidation build up why does that happen so quickly? Thank you.

I have a question, I have a 1998 k1500 that I’m going thru the same thing with. If that happened while driving would the car shut off?

Your video is very helpful but didn't solve my problem i have no spark!!! tried/changed everything.if I take the coil wire off the distributor I am getting power with test light but no spark any suggestions??

I don't want to just throw a bunch of parts at it that just gets really expensive especially when it isn't the problem or the right part or parts that's not working right especially when you have so many different things that it could be and you haven't found it within the first couple of tries or parts and you really aren't that well trained taught or knowledgeable about these things and really can't afford a shop or know a great back yard mechanic with the experience for a decent price if at

My truck has not started three years when I cut the white wire it fired right up only thing I don't speed outer and my truck won't shift like it should

So I have a 1998 GMC Sierra with the 5.7L Vortex. It started to miss fire and run rough at cruising speed and of course smooth out so what under acceleration. So I popped the hood and see #1 wire out of its hold down and touched it and got shocked. So I replaced the wires, plugs, cap and rotor. Cranked it up and it ran smooth as silk, throttled down on it and it ran rough and then stalled and died. It looks like it’s not getting enough spark, however when I hook up the ICM and coil to another truck it runs fine. I guess my question is can the tach be killing my voltage in the coil. Any ideas would be appreciated.

If i test spark it will fire at the engine ground when quite close ? But when it touches the ground it doesn't spark ?

I'm in the same boat here, your explanation isn't clear enough on your video. Which wires did you splice together? Was it from the ignition module wire to the ignition coil wire or was it black and white to white off of the ignition coil?? I've replaced everything on my 96 Tahoe and it's driving me fuckin crazy!!! No spark still but every now and than I get back fire. Sometimes when I turn the key the dash lights like battery and etc. show up and sometimes they don't just like the fuel pump sometimes it kicks on and sometimes it doesn't. But no spark, fuck!!! What do I do now?

Ok so I'm still having issues. I have a 04 with a 4.3 v6 and 5 speed. Randomly died on me in a drive through. Starting running rough as hell and died. Couldn't get it restarted. Have no fire at coil. I've replaced the coil, the plug wires, the rotor and cap. I have power to the pink wire going the the coil and power to the icm. Both light up with a test light and stay light up during cranking. I've traced it all the way back to the ignition switch itself and still got power all the way during key on and cranking. I've got good fuel pressure and getting air. Tried this wire snip trick and still nothing. Bought this truck 3 weeks ago as I can't afford head gaskets on my duramax (AGAIN)
