No one can ever understand the RUMBLING of the entire theatre when you watch this in IMAX. You can’t hear the ship, but you can FEEL it and oh my god is it not one of the most glorious watches of my life.

I love how this film emphasizes the just how much water there is on Caladan considering they spend the rest of the movie drinking sweat and tears

That shot of the Bene Gesserit walking out of their ship single file in the rain like that is absolutely HAUNTING.

Can we just all agree that this film had some of the best sound design ever? Haven't had my ears tickled by a movie like this since the Star Wars Prequels or Master and Commander.

I want to point out. Space travel is ungodly expensive. The bene geserit paid what would be a legion+ worth of ship travel just for one small ship. Thats how important this meeting is.

That hypnotic rapid whispering gave me such chills in the cinema

The incessant whispers are so ominous. Zimmer fails to disappoint. It is as if he designed this song to represent the ever-collective and ever-connected voices of all the Bene Gessereit sisters AND their ancentors. Psychic voices cloistered together, sleeplessly plotting. Exteriorwise, pious and dimure; interiorwise, puppeteers of the universe's fate.

Jessica is so confident so often, yet the approach of the Reverend Mother has her shivering with fear.

And, thinking about it, it's not fear for herself. She fears for Paul, because she knows what he's about to be put through, and how high the odds are that he does not survive.

I just noticed that when the ship pass through the interstellar portal, you can se the blue planet but just the part inside the cilinder, not one bit from outside. Wich I found as a very subtle way to show the way the portal works as a worm hole kind of way from the Spacing Guild. Love it

I really like this take on the Guild Highliners. We only see them twice and only really see how they function in this shot right here, but the interpretation of the Holtzmann effect as creating a wormhole/portal thing rather than something more like Star Trek warp travel is really unique, at least I haven't seen it before in the community. I don't think that it necessarily reflects Herbert's intention or even what's written in the original text, but it's one of the many small elements that help the film stand alone in subtle, unobtrusive ways on top of being a good adaptation.

This 54sec should garantee an oscar for visual effects, sound, editing, music, costume and camara

First time I saw this, I immediately interpreted the whispers as symbolizing the secret influence and conspiracies woven by the Bene Gesserit.

If this movie doesn't at least win the Oscar for best cinematography, I'll riot!

This movie had countless scenes that I remember so clearly. This being one of them. The music with the chanting and the gorgeous shot on the BG walking out. So haunting and mesmerizing at the same time. You can learn so much by this simple minute of film making by the impact all these elements together that can create such a powerful scene.

What's scary about the Bene Gesserit is that even though the Harkkonnens had the backing of the Emporer and the Sardekaur army, they still wouldn't dare cross the Sisters of the Bene Gesserit.

This film has a special way of juxtaposing these ancient forms of human mysticism and combat within worlds of modern advanced technology. Ultimately, it is humanity that seems to prevail.

I love how the ships are not shown in full detail but they keep an aura of mistery about them - they even look slightly UFO-ish and creepy. That adds such an amazing vibe together with the great sound editing.
