Wallace was also a comedian. He was known for his... one liners.

I find it amazing that Wallace was able to correctly theorize on the reason for this division he noticed way back in 1859! His theory about the lower sea levels during the ice age being the reason for the divide seem like it was WAY ahead of his time and quite the leap!

Wallace is one of the most beautiful and forgotten minds in science history, I'm glad that the tables are turning on behalf of his legacy. Biogeography was my favorite subject at Uni and this video is lovely :)

It's amazing that 2 theories (Evolution and Continental Drift) that developed independently can confirm each other so comfortably. Good science can survive such tests.

Olivia you're my favourite host because you remember to take a breath at the end of your sentences. And you made this video really fun.

"Nice job, Wallace" like if you think this line should be used in everyday situations

Why do we close our eyes when we hear loud noises??

Shouldn't this be "The line that Divides Indonesia"? Unless Indonesia is considered to be completely surrounded by the Indian Ocean, which I don't think most geographers agree with.

I love the way old scientists have their discoveries described like now if something is discovered it's like "hey I found a thing with this other thing" but back then it's like "oh, I just was strolling through the Amazon rainforest"

I love your enthusiasm, Olivia. The parts where you get happy and giddy about certain facts makes me like you even more! Love, J :)

Absolutely loved this episode. It's so interesting how a pioneer like Wallace could propose theories that are still correct today even though he had way less information during the time he lived.

"except for animals that could fly or swim" I was confused seeing the title I thought the divide was in water.

SciShow - I'm _really_ liking the coloured and animated text. It's not just style; it make the video easier to understand.

I usually never comment much on Youtube but i wanted to use this video as an opportunity to tell the SciShow Team, that i do greatly appreciate and approve of all the new hosts that have come to narrate SciShow over the course of the last months. I think you all do an amazing job and an even greater one at being contagious with your passion for what you are talking about in your videos. Especially Olivia, she always reminds me of the nerdy friends i used to have in school that would come to you utterly excited over a book they read, a game they played or something they found out about and could'nt wait to tell you about it with a big smile on their face.
