I remember when I was little (under the age of 10), and had to chew Tylenol because back then, the drug companies didn’t caplet pills! nasty!! 🤮

While that is a nice sentiment, chewing your pills before you swallow it messes with the absorption rate and the delayed release it is supposed to have in the body. The medicine won't be absorbed the same way and it can effect the overall helpfulness of the medication.

A little known fat is that unless the pill is a brand new med with no generic versions, most pills have different manufacturers that make the same med. And sometimes you can get the same med at the same level dosage in a smaller pill that is easier to swallow. All you have to do is ask if there's a manufacturer that makes the same med in a smaller sized pill.
