Bread Maker Machine DOUGH CYCLE Recipe! Use your bread machine’s dough cycle to make a wonderful loaf of bread! It’s so easy! When you use the dough cycle and bake your bread in the oven, your crust will be less thick and crunchy, your bread will have a different texture and density, and you can control the shape of your loaf by using your own bread pans for a more traditional or homemade look. Plus you won’t have that hole in the bottom of your bread! I also make a loaf of bread completely in the bread maker machine with the exact same recipe and measurements to compare the 2 loaves side by side. What a great experiment! Which do you prefer? Try both ways and you may be surprised!

Robyn on the Farm's Favorite Bread Machine Bread Recipe
2 lb loaf
1 c hot water (237 grams)
1/3 c milk (83 grams)
1/4 c oil or melted butter (57 grams)
3 3/4 bread flour or all purpose flour (510 grams)
3 Tbs sugar or honey (37.5 g sugar or 64 g honey)
1.5 tsp salt (8.5 grams)
1.5 tsp active dry yeast in well (4.5 grams)
Add ingredients in the order listed. Set bread machine to 3 hour basic bread cycle, I prefer light crust. ENJOY!!

For a 1 lb loaf:
1/2 c hot water
2 1/2 Tbs milk
2 Tbs oil or melted butter
1 3/4 c bread flour or all-purpose flour
1 1/2 Tbs sugar or honey
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp active dry yeast

For a 1.5 lb loaf:
3/4 c hot water
1/4 c milk
3 Tbs oil or melted butter
2 3/4 c bread flour or all-purpose flour
2 Tbs sugar or honey
1 1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp active dry yeast

Thank you for sharing. I am 74 and over this last year started making bread in my bread machine. It’s easy but I think I would like a more traditional looking loaf, so I will try just using the dough cycle. Thank you for showing us how.❤️✝️🙏🇺🇸

The loaf baked in the oven is longer where the bread machine one is taller. Try letting your bread for the oven do it's last rise in the oven with the light on and you might get more rise. Thanks for the tutorial.

I just took my loaf of bread out of the oven. I am 74 years old and I got a used bread maker for Christmas. I have tried three other recipes and they did not turn out. My loafer bread looks beautiful just like yours and I sure hope it taste delicious just like you say yours does dinner is almost ready and the loaf of bread is almost cool, so I’m really hopeful. This was so informative and to the point and I loved the experiment and comparison! Was the bread machine one more tall and airy due to the longer cook time? Do you know what temperature the bread machine is operating at while baking the bread in there??

I just made this recipe, from bread machine to loaf pan, and it was way too good to waste on sandwiches. I'm going to gain ten pounds. Somebody stop me!🍞😺❤

I use this same recipe. The only difference is that I use 2 table spoons of honey and 1 and 1/2 tea spoons of sugar I just love letting the machine do the work and then baking in a regular bread pan in the oven I also use an eletric bread knife for perfect slices every time at my chosen thickness also when I take the bread out of the oven I have more of that wonderful I did it myself feeling I buy my ingredients in regular size packaging and my cost is about the same as a regular loaf from a grocery store so for the same price you get fresh warm homemade bread without the extra additives of factory bread

Robyn, thanks so much for the recipe. I made this today and it is fantastic! I used 2 tsp of dry yeast because I use a yeast that comes in little envelopes and that was what was in it. The loaf came out almost like a cartoon like loaf. It is beautiful and delicious! Thanks for sharing 😀

This was exactly what I needed. I made my first loaf in my bread machine only, and it turned out nice but I didn't like the shape and the little hole on the bottom! I really appreciate the time you took to make this tutorial and comparison. Now I just need to get a cast iron bread pan :)

Thank you for the comparison. What size loaf is this? 1 or 2 pounds, I have a smaller bread machine and don't want a catastrophe.
