International Energy Agency Executive Director Fatih Birol looks at how the AI frenzy might affect demand for energy including nuclear power. Taiwan's Premier Cho Jung-tai has told Bloomberg that the government is “very open” to using new nuclear technology to meet surging demand from chipmakers devouring electricity in the AI boom, Separately, a cloud services firm backed by Nvidia Corp. wants to build a new data center in Japan, with one prerequisite: there should be nuclear power available nearby.
